Read MoreI took Finish A Track straight after working through most of Andri's Push 3 Bible. The Bible is great at going through all of the functionality of Push, and Finish A Track then built on top of that to give me an end-to-end workflow for creating a track with Push. Andri's way of teaching is great - he provides Live sets and challenges that make for a very hands-on learning experience. I found that aspect really sparked my creativity. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to become productive with Push 3.

Read MoreI really enjoyed the challenge, and admire your determination to remain firmly in the Push domain for as long as possible! It's an interesting exercise, but the moral of the story for me is that, sooner or later, you have to migrate your work in progress from session to arrangement view, and there is an art of its own in knowing when the time has come to make that jump from one to the other. In my case I decided to make that jump a little earlier, so that I could experiment with automation as part of my structural decision-making. Also, there are creative aspects of session view (clip launch settings, follow actions, stop buttons etc) that I find much easier to wield on the computer, so my approach in general is to use the Push (2 in my case) for all the many things it makes more enjoyably tactile and immediate, but not feel too concerned about nipping back to the mouse and screen (and piano keyboard) every now and again for things that I can accomplish more efficiently that way. For me it's the combination that's really powerful, and what keeps me in the best "flow state".
