I have taken two other Push courses and this one stands out as the clear winner. The instructor is a long time user of Push and incorporates years of experience into this course. His knowledge shines through, especially when he combines his experience playing Push live with his deep knowledge of the device. This is not just a series of videos regurgitating the manual in video form, it is a fully rewarding experience that reveals the Push to you in a new light, as an instrument and tool you never knew it could be. For me, this course was a journey of discovery. As a teacher myself, I can say the instructor also has great skills as an educator. He considers your point of view as a beginner or intermediate, and delivers his instruction with the student in mind at all times. He is engaging and clear in his delivery and superb at answering questions people post in the forums. I can't wait for future work and I can't wait to go through this course again with the new perspective I now have with Push.

Hi Andri, i've just completed the 14hrs course over the past 4 days and would like to give it my thoughts. I have actually watched a few other courses from other providers and there was loads of stuff in yours that they just didn't cover, or they just gave it a fleeting mention and moved on. For me personally, I got the most out of the Drum Rack, Sequencer, Using Audio Clips and Arrangement sections. However, I managed to pick valuable info up right the way through the course. One thing that would make it better in my opinion would be the ability to bookmark/favourite a certain video, so you can quickly refer back to it. I'm not sure if this can be added to the website? Apart from that, it's excellent!! Thanks Andri!

I've been going through this course non-stop for the past two days which is the same amount of time I've owned a Push 2 and I know so much already. It's a brilliant way to assimilate the ins and outs of this amazing musical instrument. So thankful for the clear and concise teachings of Andri. He clearly comes from a family of educators and passes that ability on flawlessly with the Push Bible!

I have taken a number of different courses on various musical/instrument lessons over the years. I know that how each of us learns, is very subjective. While many different instructors present some or most of the material they promise the presentation may suffer from any of the following: poor video and audio quality, speaker difficult to understand, to much rambling on, information not well paced and finally the lack of quality illustrations and conceptual guidance. The Push Bible course is well paced, and really delivers on all counts! The production quality is top notch, and Andri obviously has a lot of experience teaching as his delivery is concise, well paced and quite humorous at times. For me, I found the information presented really took hold (even in my short term memory). You really can't ask for much more than that. Well worth it. Thank you Andri.

An excellent comprehensive course that was delivered at an efficient, yet easy to follow pace. I'm sure many people will find it very helpful & extremely useful. An area where it really excelled was in demonstration; rather than just a descriptive instruction with the briefest of possible demonstrations, the student was walked through the process step by step.

I finished this course in about 12 days on and off. It is the perfect blend of being comprehensive and concise, I am so happy that I purchased this course. I would recommend this to anyone new to Push 2, I feel fully comfortable to use the controller on my own now. There are so many little things I picked up in this course that I would've been losing my mind over had I been trying to figure it out on my own. Love it and thank you so much!

This whole course is worth every penny!!! I did another course elsewhere and never got all this very useful and handy knowledge like here. Everything is built up very structured and accurate. Andri explaines every single detail in a way that you have no other choice than really getting it right away. And even for experienced user this course goes beyond just using push. It's outstanding! Thank you Andri for this huge piece of work. In my opinion you have a very good way of teaching. Please keep going and also keep your humor, which made my smile here and there during this course. I purchased the Beginner and Intermediate (L1 & L2) courses and have gone through each and every module. It took me months to get through. I had to dedicate time each day to going along with each lesson and to absorb and practice it so that I would retain it. The instructor has it laid out in a way where you can do this - take bite size chunks out each day, or multiple sections in a day. After reflecting on it, and comparing it to other courses out there, this is really worth every penny. I spent months on this, and it was well worth the price. The instructor isn't very click baity, very minimal and to the point, and that worked with my style. He did lean on his strengths of electronic music production, and that was fine (although i would have liked to see more genres represented). He goes beyond Push to show you other things in Ableton, his personal preferences with VSTs and plug-ins, sample packs, and more. This is the Gold - beyond the manual into a professional's mind about what works and what doesnt. Ultimately, I really liked the instructor. He was very humble, very empathetic to his audience, very detailed and organized, and just a pleasure. He feels like a friend. And I learn from friends the best. Thanks for all the material! You got me off the ground !

I would definitely recommend this course, it’s incredibly thorough and informative as well as clean and easy to go through. As I’ve got to see more of Andri’s content, he comes across very genuine as is very happy to help if you have questions, you just have to look at the discussions on the videos themselves to see that. I also enjoy your snippets of humour we see here too, Andri! 😊 This is a no brainer for someone if you use Push 2, particularly as an instrument, or if it’s your main Ableton controller. Using those skills in line with other courses (in terms of production and performance) has been so useful for me and I feel really confident just using the Push 2 alone for a lot of my workflow and output now. What I would add is, those who have a basic understanding of Push may well want to “just” get the intermediate course, that said, the beginner course is exactly the same in terms of my rating, as its recorded and delivered to the same standard, its just I knew the content of that level already. I was on the fence to purchase this course for a while, but a discount persuaded me to dive in, and I'm incredibly glad I did. No hesitation to give 5 stars. Wonderful work, Andri!

What you'll learn

  • How to build a track using only Push

A whole section goes into how to create an entire track using almost exclusively Push, showing tricks and tips to reduce touching your mouse and keyboard to the absolute minimum. A download allows you to follow along and create your own version of the track.

  • Creating epic drum & percussion parts

The Drum Rack is really powerful, and together with Push, some automation tricks that are rarely shown, I'll show you how to make really interesting, dynamic and interesting loops and percussion.

  • Create your own custom instrument

Multiple lessons go through how to create your own sounds and instruments from either your own samples or from existing tracks by yourself or others. Making your own sound is both incredibly fun, much easier than you might think, and is such an exciting way to create your own unique sound.

  • Record and sample external gear

Learn how to record external synths, audio sources or even an iPad or tablet, as well as the more advanced audio routing options available through Push but which are largely unknown.

  • Take control of VSTs and Plugins

With Push you can grab hold of the parameters of VSTs and third party plugins. There are a few ways to do this, and these are all covered, including my absolute favourite way to keep their key controls at my fingertips, reduce CPU-usage, and have fun with new synths and sounds.

  • Keep your creativity flowing

Ever played something and then thought: oh wow, that was nice! When you try to repeat it however it falls flat? Learn how to go back in time and grab these ideas - Push and Live are always recording. Ever found yourself in the mood, feeling like you're flying, and then getting tripped up by searching around for a sound or sample? Find out how you can stay in that magical state of flow.

Push is a gateway to scales many of us would rarely touch. Learn about the variety on offer, how to tap into them in creative ways and explore new musical languages.

  • Learn hidden features

There are a number of really important features that just aren't well explained online or anywhere else. - How do you import a clip into Session view using only Push? - How can you add samples and sounds to Live's library and access these via Push? - How can you customise Live and Push's behaviour to get the most out of them both? Some of the best feedback I've had has been on these aspects, as even Ableton themselves haven't shown exactly how you do these things. With every hack I discover I add this to the course.

  • Customise your Push

Push's user mode has a lot of potential - but also some drawbacks. I show you how you can can use it to add functionality to Push and Live. But not everything you'd hope that would work works - let me save you the time I've spent trying to get it to work! It can however add some super useful and customisable shortcuts, and these are really worth knowing. I also show how MIDI pedals can be added, the functionality of some buttons improved and even how to change the knobs themselves, should you wish!

Senior Instructor

Andri Søren Haflidason

Andri has taught thousands of students, from complete beginners to full-time professionals. He became a Product Specialist for Ableton in 2014, delivering workshops at all levels, has taught at schools across Europe including SAE Institute and ESRA. His focus is on Ableton Live and Ableton Push, with a particular emphasis on finding creative workflows, improvisational performance, and getting into 'the flow. He believes firmly in doing more with less, and "finding your instrument". Life is short, and limitations and focus bring incredible creativity and results. Describing and mapping out the "landscapes of possibility" to students is key, helping them find their path and to define their own personal quest.

First off, thank you so much for doing this entire course! I love Push2 and have had it for quite a few years now, and I found I was just scared of adventuring within its functions and understand how Push 2 as a beast works. Now I have a solid basic understanding of it because of the help of your course and its in-depth content. thanks to you, sir! I sincerely hope you make more videos in the future! Maybe tutorials on how to make different genres of EDM music like techno, house, drum and bass etc seeing as how you are so knowledgeable with music as a whole.;) I honestly think if you did general construction of how to build a house, deep house or techno track would be a great course for aspiring people like myself to spring board from your teachings and create their own identities.

This is by far the most helpful course out there on push 2, Andri is the best teacher, really knows his stuff and breaks it down at a pace that anyone can digest. On top of that because of the COVID 19 things had been a little rough for and he reached out to me and he gave me and extension on my last payment which was supposed to be 70$ and he also discounted 30$ off due to a sale he was running. This has been the best course I've paid for online. Thanks Andri !!! You're the absolute best!!! Highly recommended!!! Ruben ( D1nmX ) Rosario

Honestly, I don’t write reviews in general, but I feel it’s worth it as Andri does a terrific job on teaching us students the ins-and-outs of what makes it so fun to play and learn the Push 2. You can see how much energy and enthusiasm he puts into each lesson and how he makes final edits in the notes below the tutorial videos as well as his sometimes-funny quiz questions. It’s all the small touches, (i.e., Push 2 Shortcut Keys, Super Bass Rack) that he adds to make the whole experience worthwhile! Lastly, it’s really nice that he addresses any questions by emails beyond the transitional Q&A in each lesson that adds value to the total package. I highly recommend you take his tutorial videos as you would not be disappointed. (Push Bible Beginner + Intermediate) – Michael Grayson

This must be the most comprehensive thing out there. I'm an Ableton Live veteran for the last 14 years or so. I used a Push 1 for the last seven years and bought this course. I learned so much, not only about Push and Ableton but especially about workflow and creativity. I finished half of the course, did buy a Push 2 now and couldn't be happier. Bang for the buck cannot be overstated on this one.

It also makes me very happy that my money is also going to a caring, giving, world class musician. Buy this.

I don’t typically leave reviews about stuff like this, but in this case I feel compelled to write. If anyone out there is looking to purchase a course to really LEARN the Push 2, do not hesitate — GET THIS COURSE!! The production quality is superb (for both video and audio quality), and the course content is excellent, with very clear explanations, etc. The vids display well on my iPad as well as my 27” iMac — and the resolution is fantastic, very impressive even on the large screen. I’ve been working my way through the content (I purchased both courses) and am very happy I bought the courses. By the way, I am not related in any way to Andri and I'm writing this on my own initiative simply because I am a very happy customer! Andri, keep up the excellent work!! -Paul F.
